ADHYAVI: A CALL TO ACTION AGAINST VIOLENCE

The women cell observed the International Day for the Elimination of Violence Against Women on November 25, 2024, with a thought provoking event aimed at raising awareness and sparking change. The program began with an introduction by college union chairperson Alfy George, setting the tone for the day's discussions. 

A thought provoking documentary was screened, visually representing the issues surrounding violence against women. Neethu Raj  from the Malayalam Department delivered a presentation tracing the historical context of women's rights and challenges. Students showcased a video articulating their stance against violence. A collage making competition was also conducted, encouraging creative expressions of support.

FILM CLUB INAUGURATION: A DAY OF ENTERTAINMENT

The college union organized the film club inauguration on November 22, 2024, offering students a relaxing break from their academic routines. Noel M. Shibu and Jinda Sebastian coordinated the event, with Jinda delivering the welcome speech. Assistant Professor Sri. Arun Raj inaugurated the event. Fr. Sabu Raju provided felicitations, while Krishnaja delivered the vote of thanks. 
After the inauguration, students enjoyed screenings of two films, showcased in morning and afternoon session. The event featured screenings of two comedy films: "Adi Kapyare Koottamani" and "Chathikkatha Chanthu".
The Film Club inauguration provided a moment of enjoyment for students.

CRAFTING WITH PURPOSE: SUPW WORKSHOP

As part of the B.ED curriculum, BMM II Training College organized a Socially Useful Productive work (SUPW) workshop on November 19, 2024. The session began with a warm welcome by the principal, who introduced Sri. Mohanlal as the resource person. 

Mohanlal sir led an engaging session on the importance and objectives of SUPW, emphasizing the value of creating useful products from reusable materials. Students were divided into four groups to craft various products, including soap, lotion, files, and bags, promoting hands-on learning and teamwork. My team and I created bags during the workshop. 

Through this interactive workshop, students gained valuable practical skills in crafting and design, which will benefit their future careers as educators.

CAPACITY BUILDING FOR TOMORROW'S TEACHERS

The B.ED curriculum's Capacity Building Workshop took place on November 16, 2024, featuring renowned educator and motivational speaker Mr. R. Kiran Bodhi. The workshop began with an interactive session and insightful talk on leadership, covering effective leadership qualities, types of leadership, and more. Then the 101 participants were split into four groups for an engaging game session. Participants engaged in team building games, including a blindfolded hand catching game and ball passing game, with team Prayanam emerging as champions. 

In the afternoon, a drama making session held, it showcased creativity and teamwork, with each group delivering impressive performances.

The day concluded with a reflection session led by me, Sr. Sincy Maria Sam, and Fr. Sabu Raju.

INAUGURATION OF TACHYON: PHYSICAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION

The Physical Science Department of BMM II Training College launched their association program on 12th November. Dr. Shamna Rani, Head of the Department, delivered a presidential address emphasizing unity and collaboration. College Principal Sri. Riju John unveiled the association logo, TACHYON. Students showcased their talents in a cultural program and played interactive games.

BIOPHILIA NATURAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION: EXPLORING THE WONDERS OF NATURE

The Natural Science Department of BMM II Training College launched their association program on Monday, November 11th in college's general hall. Principal Sri. Riju John inaugurated the event, unveiling the BIOPHILIA logo. As a symbolic gesture, students presented a plant to the college, which was accepted by the principal. The program featured a vibrant cultural show, showcasing students talents and creativity.

SPORTS DAY SPECTACLE

On Saturday, November 9th, BMM II Training college hosted its highly anticipated annual sports day. The event showcased the college's athletic prowess through separate cricket and football tournaments for men and women. After intense competition, the winners in each category were announced and awarded prizes by Principal Sri. Riju John, who commended the participants dedication and sportsmanship. The day's activities extended beyond sports, incorporating practical and theoretical yoga assessments to evaluate students mastery of yoga principles.

On November 8th, the first year Mathematics Department hosted their association program. The event began with the unveiling of the association's name and logo, EQUAVISTA presided over by the college principal Sri. Riju John. Smt. Vismaya Thomas, the Head of the Department, delivered an inspiring presidential address. The event also featured a variety of cultural programs, showcasing the students talents and fostering a strong sense of unity.

RITHVA: UNVEILING THE SPIRIT OF THE SOCIAL SCIENCE ASSOCIATION

 

On November 7th, 2024, the Department of Social Science at Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College organized a vibrant subject association program. The event commenced with a prayer and continued with the welcome speech delivered by Adhila. The Presidential address was given by our teacher Smt. Sheeja Chacko. The highlight of the program was the Logo launching and inaugural speech by Principal Sri. Riju John. Our Logo named RITHVA Fr. Terry. T explained the significance and meaning behind the new logo. 

Following the formal proceedings, the cultural programs began, bringing a festive and energetic vibe to the event. Finally the vote of thanks was delivered by Varshamol Shibu.

Our subject association program was a memorable and successful event. The event not only marked the inauguration of the association but also set the stage for an exciting year ahead filled with opportunities for learning and engagement.



LOGO
Rithva is a Sanskrit word that means the "peaks of trees." These peaks, which provide shelter for birds to build their nests, also offer shade to the humans on earth. Similarly, teachers are like the peaks of knowledge. They provide shade on the paths of students, creating nests of values in the sky of the right path, and help them dream of reaching great heights.

KALOSMI: MALAYALAM DEPARTMENT ASSOCIATION

The first year Malayalam Department of Baselios Marthoma Mathews II Training College, Kottarakara, held their association program on Tuesday, November 5, in the college general hall. Philosophy Professor Harivind Sir inaugurated the Association and Logo naming ceremonies, while Department Head Akhil Sir delivered the welcome address. The association was named KALOSMI. The event featured several cultural and variety entertainment programs, reflecting the department's dedication to celebrating the Malayalam language and heritage.
