Day 1: January 8, 2025
As part of the B.ED. curriculum, Micro teaching sessions for the first semester were conducted on January 8 and 9, 2025. Students from different departments participated as students, while the class teacher served as the main supervisor, supported by two peer observers. The session began at 10:00 AM. From 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, I participated as a student in an English class, which helped me observe different teaching techniques and classroom interactions.
At 1:00 PM, it was my turn to present. My selected skill was closure, and I taught the topic "The President of India." During my session, I summarized the key points effectively and asked concluding questions to ensure student understanding. The class was observed by the teacher and two peers, who provided me with constructive feedback. The feedback was positive, highlighting my clarity in explanation and engagement with students. This experience enhanced my confidence and gave me a better understanding of the importance of an effective conclusion in a lesson. Following my session , other students continued presenting their lessons until 3:30 PM, marking the end of a productive day.
Day 2: January 9, 2025
The second day was dedicated to completing the remaining micro teaching sessions. From 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, I participated as a student in an English class, which allowed me to observe diverse teaching strategies. Throughout the day, students delivered their lessons, incorporating the feedback and insights gained from Day 1. The sessions provided an opportunity to refine teaching skills and enhance confidence in lesson delivery. By the end of the day, the first semester Micro teaching sessions were successfully completed.
The microteaching sessions were a valuable learning experience, offering practical exposure to teaching, peer interaction, and constructive feedback. This initial practice has laid a strong foundation for our future teaching practice, fostering confidence and professional growth.
