CELEBRATING A LITERARY ICON: M.T. VASUDEVAN NAIR TRIBUTE

 The Malayalam Department Association, Kalosmi, hosted a remarkable event in honor of M.T. Vasudevan Nair, one of the most celebrated writers in Malayalam literature. The program was a perfect blend of intellectual discussions, artistic expressions, and engaging competitions, making it a memorable literary celebration. The event began at 10:00 AM, with a warm welcome by Sri. Akhil, Assistant Professor from the Malayalam department. The Principal Sri. Riju John then delivered the presidential address, setting the stage for a day dedicated to literary appreciation. To honor the legendary writers legacy, a candle-lighting ceremony was held, symbolizing the enduring impact of his contributions.

The keynote speech by Prof. Dr. M.R. Shelly from Fatima Mata National College, was a highlight of the event, offering a deep insights into M.T. Vasudevan Nair's influence on literature and cinema. Rev. Fr. M. Jacob, Smt. Sheeja Chacko, Sri. Arun Raj, Smt. Dona, and our Union chairman, Albin K. Alexander, shared their reflections on the writer's timeless works. The session concluded with a vote of thanks by student representative Jishnu Balachandran.

An exhibition was organized in the Malayalam department classroom, inaugurated by the chief guest. The exhibition showcased a documentary on the life and contributions of M.T. Vasudevan Nair, offering visitors an insightful glimpse into his literary journey. A dance performance, inspired by one of his iconic works, added a cultural touch to the tribute.

To further engage participants, a quiz competition was held, with teams from different departments competing. After an exciting and competitive round, the Physical Science department emerged as the winner, followed by the Mathematics department in second place. Our department secured the third position, showcasing our enthusiasm and literary knowledge. 

The program concluded at 1:30 PM, leaving everyone with a deeper appreciation for the literary maestro.

"HRIDAYATHALAM": A THEATRICAL JOURNEY

 As part of our B.Ed. curriculum, we participated in the second day of the Art Education and Theoretical Drama Workshop on January 24, 2025, from 10:00 AM to 4:30 PM. The session began with a warm welcome address by our principal, setting the stage for an exciting day of theatrical expression. Students were divided into 20 groups based on their optional subjects, and the performances commenced at 10:00 AM. 

Each group showcased their creativity and teamwork through thought provoking performances. Our group, group 10, performed the drama "Hridayathalam". 

The play featured six characters:

Ajmi                  - Smitha ( daughter)

Rajalekshmi      - Mother 

Fr. Terry            - John (son)

Anvy                 - Daisy 

Anu                   - Doctor

Myself               - Daisy's mother 

Through our performance, we depicted the importance of family. After all the performances, the resource person provided constructive feedback on each groups strengths and areas for improvement. Our team scored 8 out of 10. 

The program concluded at 4:30 PM, marking the end of a memorable and enriching experience.

THE ART OF EXPRESSION: A DRAMA WORKSHOP 🎭

 As part of our B.Ed. curriculum, an engaging session on Art and Theoretical Drama Education was conducted at our college on January 23, 2025, from 9:45 AM to 4:30 PM. The event commenced with a welcome address by our Principal, who warmly greeted the students and introduced the guest speaker, Sri. Satheesh G. Nair. A highly accomplished artist, television and radio actor, teacher, writer, and director, he has directed over 70 dramas and has won accolades in mono acting, mime, and other performing arts. His vast experience and expertise made the session highly informative and inspiring.

Sri. Satheesh G. Nair introduced students to the fundamental concepts of drama, emphasizing: the role of body language in conveying emotions, sound modulation techniques for effective communication, and key elements of dramatic expression for impactful performances.

The theoretical discussion was followed by an interactive, hands-on segment where students actively participated in four distinct practical sessions. Each session focused on a specific aspect of drama performance, allowing students to apply the techniques they learned.

The workshop was dynamic and engaging, helping students develop a deeper understanding of dramatic techniques and stage performance. The session concluded at 4:30 PM. It was a memorable experience.

A DAY OF CINEMA AND CREATIVITY: A MEMORABLE DAY🎬

 Today was another engaging and enriching experience in our B.Ed. journey. Our EKTHA College Union organized a special cinema fest at Minerva Theatre, where we had the opportunity to watch the Malayalam film 'Rekhachithram'. 

The screening began at 10 AM, with 93 students participating, accompanied by our dedicated faculty members - Arun Sir, Dona Miss, Swathy Miss, and Sithusha Miss. 

The film 'Rekhachithram' (2025), directed by Jofin T. Chacko, is a mystery crime thriller that follows the story of CI Vivek Gopinath ( Asif Ali), and Rekha Pathrose (Anaswara Rajan).  

The movie concluded at 12:30 PM, leaving us with plenty to discuss and reflect upon.

After the screening, we returned to college for lunch and then shifted our focus to drama practice as part of our Art based Education. 

A truly inspiring and memorable day.

EKTHA: A SYMPHONY OF UNITY AND CREATIVITY

 The Union and Arts Inauguration 2024-2025 at BMM II Training College was a vibrant celebration of student leadership, creativity, and collaboration. Held on 16th January 2025, in General Hall, the event was a testament to the power of unity and the artistic talents of students.

A Grand Inauguration ⏰11:00 AM 

The event began with an enthusiastic welcome speech by Principal Sri. Riju John, setting an inspiring tone for the day. This was followed by an address by Union Chairman Albin .K. Alexander, who spoke about the significance of student representation, and a presidential address by Fr. Jacob, our manager. 

A defining moment was the ceremonial lamp lighting by MLA of Puthupalli, Sri. Chandy Oommen. His inaugural speech motivated students to embrace leadership and unity. Adding a touch of humor and entertainment, comedy artists Sri. Rajesh Kottarathil and Sri. Sujith Manayil engaged the audience with their wit and lively interactions, making the sessions even more memorable. One of the most anticipated moments of the day was the unveiling of the union logo "EKTHA" led by MLA. The logo symbolizing the strength of togetherness, perfectly captured the essence o student solidarity. The formal session concluded with felicitations by Smt. Sithusha and Fr. Sabu Raju, followed by a vote of thanks from Arts Club Secretary David.

The morning session transitioned into a colorful display of music and dance performances.

After lunch, the excitement soared as the audience gathered at 2:00 PM for a spectacular live performance by Neelam Band. Their energetic show electrified the atmosphere, filling the hall with cheers, music, and dance. As the event concluded at 4:00 PM. 

The inauguration was a true celebration of teamwork, creativity, and student spirit. A day of inspiration, unity, and celebration😍

MASTERING TEACHING SKILLS: SEMESTER 2 MICROTEACHING EXPERIENCE

Day 1: 10th January 2025  

The second semesters microteaching sessions were conducted on January 10 and 13, 2025. Students from our department acted as participants, while the class served as the supervisor, with two peer observers present to provide feedback. The session began at 10:00 AM, and my turn was scheduled from 11:45 AM to 12:00 PM. I demonstrated the Skill of Stimulus Variation using the topic 'Harappan Civilization.'

The teacher and observers provided positive feedback. This feedback boosted my confidence and gave me insights into refining my teaching approach. For the remainder of the session, I participated as a student in other classes. The session concluded at 3:30 PM. 

Day 2: 13th January 2025

The remaining students delivered their lessons on January 13, marking the successful completion of the semester 2 microteaching sessions.

STEPPING INTO TEACHING: FIRST SEMESTER MICROTEACHING SESSIONS

 Day 1: January 8, 2025

As part of the B.ED. curriculum, Micro teaching sessions for the first semester were conducted on January 8 and 9, 2025. Students from different departments participated as students, while the class teacher served as the main supervisor, supported by two peer observers. The session began at 10:00 AM. From 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM, I participated as a student in an English class, which helped me observe different teaching techniques and classroom interactions. 

At 1:00 PM, it was my turn to present. My selected skill was closure, and I taught the topic "The President of India." During my session, I summarized the key points effectively and asked concluding questions to ensure student understanding. The class was observed by the teacher and two peers, who provided me with constructive feedback. The feedback was positive, highlighting my clarity in explanation and engagement with students. This experience enhanced my confidence and gave me a better understanding of the importance of an effective conclusion in a lesson. Following my session , other students continued presenting their lessons until 3:30 PM, marking the end of a productive day.

Day 2: January 9, 2025

The second day was dedicated to completing the remaining micro teaching sessions. From 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, I participated as a student in an English class, which allowed me to observe diverse teaching strategies. Throughout the day, students delivered their lessons, incorporating the feedback and insights gained from Day 1. The sessions provided an opportunity to refine teaching skills and enhance confidence in lesson delivery. By the end of the day, the first semester Micro teaching sessions were successfully completed.

   The microteaching sessions were a valuable learning experience, offering practical exposure to teaching, peer interaction, and constructive feedback. This initial practice has laid a strong foundation for our future teaching practice, fostering confidence and professional growth.

ENHANCING TEACHING SKILLS: A MICRO TEACHING DEMONSTRATION SESSION

As part of the B.Ed. curriculum, a Micro Teaching Demonstration Session was conducted on Saturday, January 4, 2024, to equip us with essential teaching skills for effective classroom instruction. 

During the session, our seniors took on the role of teachers, while we participated as students. The demonstration covered around ten fundamental teaching skills, with each senior presenting a brief 15 minute lesson on a specific topic. They explained the components and techniques involved in delivering an engaging and well structured class. Faculty members were present throughout the session to offer guidance and constructive feedback. The program commenced at 10:00 AM with a warm welcome from our Principal Sri. Riju John, and concluded at 12:45 PM. 

In the afternoon, subject specific teaching skills were demonstrated in separate sessions, offering a more focused learning experience for each subject group. The experience reinforced our understanding of the teaching profession and prepared us for our upcoming micro teaching practical's.

HELLO...... 2025

The College Union of BMM II Training College, Kottarakara, marked the beginning of 2025 with a grand event, 'AURORA.' Held in the General Hall on January 1st, the celebration brought together students and faculty to welcome the new year with joy, unity, and hope.✨

The highlight of the day was the Wish Box Activity, where students poured their thoughts, jokes, and heartfelt wishes for their friends onto paper. These notes, read aloud, during the event, brought laughter and joy, creating cherished moments that deepened our connections. The celebrations also featured a creative competition, where each department visually depicted their goals for 2025 through comics and artwork. While the Natural Science Department claimed victory, every team contributed unique and inspiring ideas, making the competition vibrant and thought provoking. 

To end of the celebrations on a sweet note, delicious treats were distributed, bringing smiles to everyone's faces and adding a touch of warmth to the day.
